What goes in the code
The generator writes a standard vCard 3.0 record (the same format phones export). Every field you add makes the code denser, so a vCard with an address and website is noticeably busier than a link. Print it at least 2.5 cm wide and keep error correction at M or L if you don't need a logo.
vCard or a link?
A vCard code works offline and keeps your details private: there's no profile page and no tracking. The trade-off is that it's fixed: if your number changes, you reprint. If you need to update details later, point a link QR code at a page you control instead.
Questions
Will it open the contacts app?
Yes. iOS and Android cameras recognise vCard data and show an "Add to contacts" prompt.
Why is my vCard QR code so dense?
All the text is inside the code. Leave out fields you do not need, or use a lower error-correction level to keep the modules larger.
