QR code generator with logo

Upload a logo, pick your brand colours and we set error correction to H so the code still reads with its centre covered. Then press Test scan before you print.

How much of the code can be damaged or covered and still read. Higher means a denser pattern.

v3 · 29×29 · ECC H

Static code: the link is stored in the pattern itself, with no redirect through us, so it never expires and nobody tracks scans. Smallest safe print size is roughly 2.0 cm wide; go bigger for posters read from a distance (about 1/10 of the scanning distance).

Why a logo doesn’t break the code

QR codes carry Reed–Solomon error-correction codewords. At level H roughly 30% of the codewords can be lost and the decoder rebuilds them. Your logo sits on top of data modules, so it spends part of that budget. Keep it under about a quarter of the code's width, keep it centred (never over the three corner squares) and leave a small clear pad around it, which the generator does for you.

See it happen with the sticker slider in How QR codes work.

Colours that still scan

  • Dark code on a light background. Many scanner apps don't read inverted (light-on-dark) codes.
  • Aim for contrast of at least 4:1; the generator warns you below that.
  • Keep the white margin (quiet zone) of 4 modules. It's the first thing designers crop and the most common reason a printed code fails.
  • SVG for print, PNG at 2048 px or more for large formats.

Questions

Will a QR code with a logo still work?

Yes, if error correction is high (Q or H), the logo is centred and covers less than roughly a quarter of the width. Use the Test scan button, then scan the printed proof with two different phones.

Does the logo get uploaded?

No. The logo is read by your browser and drawn into the code locally. Nothing is sent to a server.

Do these QR codes expire?

No. They are static: the link is stored in the pattern itself with no redirect service in between, so there is nothing to expire and nothing to pay for.
